Wayne comes home today. In a little over 2 hours to be exact! I slept in a little this morning, got up and did some domestic stuff and about to shower and head to the airport. Today is a public holiday here in Western Australia, and the city has a lot of shut down streets because of CHOGM conference and because of the Queen being here and all. Now, I blogged before that I really could care less about the Queen..and while that is still the case, I do have to admit it is KINDA cool that the Queen of England is in the same town as me. Matter of fact, on Thursday afternoon, she was about 10-15 minutes away from our house, at a place called Hillary's Boat Harbor, which as a side note, I LOVE to go to. Esp at night for dinner. Great atmosphere. So, yeah, although I'm not fussed and have started changing the radio/tv when they start all the fuss up about royal visit.. I will admit it is kinda cool.
Speaking of turning the radio..... one of the sport teams here is about to make me go crazy. Not sure what the sport is, or even the full details of the team.. but some team from Freemantle (shortened to Freo here in Oz..which is about 30-40 minutes or so south of us) is considering changing their team song, and it's caused quite a stir this week. I guess it's their "fight song" as what we would call it in America. ANYWAYS.... they keep discussing it and playing the fight song.... the old one and the new proposed one. Something about both versions drives..me... crazy. And hey, we all know that that is a short drive anyways.
So, now I've gone and researched. It's a football club for the "Freo Dockers". HERE is the link to the song. Every time I hear it, I want to head to freo and find whoever created this song... and high five them.. in the face.. with a chair. Am so hoping that something new comes up that is more newsworthy next week so they will STOP playing this song.
Well, guess I will get moving and drive to the airport and see if I can't find someone to bring home. ;) Until next time!!!
