S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y..

So this past Saturday was the week that I had to babysit a cute little girl all day.  I sit with her every other Saturday from 8:30-3.  She's a very pleasant and cute baby, so I usually don't mind.  I started this Saturday off exhausted, because our douche bag neighbors had a party until 5am, that involved 2 calls to the police because of noise...which only angered them more and made them louder after every visit.  Should have called again once they started screaming "call the F'in cops again!!!"  Luckily, they have no clue WHO was calling.  Anyways, they quit at 5am.  My alarm went off at 7:15.. you do the math on how little sleep I had....

Fast forward to 8:30 a.m.   Not only was the little girl sick, she was also VERY VERY crabby.  She cried and threw fits ALL.  DAY.  She wanted to be picked up, I picked her up... she threw a fit and wanted to be put down.  I put her down, she threw a fit because I put her down.  It was a very long and tiresome day.  I was so excited when her dad came home and I was able to turn her over and say "bye!"  It made it hard not knowing her really well as this was only my 2nd Saturday with her, and as Wayne's mom said, it probably was the simple fact that she didn't feel good and that I wasn't her mom.  Makes sense, but was still a long day.  Birth control at it's FINEST!! lol

Saturday night was dinner at the folk's with Wayne's brother and his family which is always a good time.  The boys are growing sooo fast and we love spending time with them.  After dinner we came home, played rummy and had some drinks until 2:30am or so!  It was a blast.  And we toasted to the date, October 29.  That marked exactly 3 months since I've made the official move to Perth and exactly one year since I landed on my first trip to Perth.  Wow.  How time flies.  And just to think, that in the year 2011, I've lived longer in Perth than anywhere else.  Over 20 weeks now.  <3

Until next time....

Yippeee

Wayne comes home today.  In a little over 2 hours to be exact!  I slept in a little this morning, got up and did some domestic stuff and about to shower and head to the airport.  Today is a public holiday here in Western Australia, and the city has a lot of shut down streets because of CHOGM conference and because of the Queen being here and all.  Now, I blogged before that I really could care less about the Queen..and while that is still the case, I do have to admit it is KINDA cool that the Queen of England is in the same town as me.  Matter of fact, on Thursday afternoon, she was about 10-15 minutes away from our house, at a place called Hillary's Boat Harbor, which as a side note, I LOVE to go to.  Esp at night for dinner.  Great atmosphere.  So, yeah, although I'm not fussed and have started changing the radio/tv when they start all the fuss up about royal visit.. I will admit it is kinda cool.

Speaking of turning the radio..... one of the sport teams here is about to make me go crazy.  Not sure what the sport is, or even the full details of the team.. but some team from Freemantle (shortened to Freo here in Oz..which is about 30-40 minutes or so south of us) is considering changing their team song, and it's caused quite a stir this week.  I guess it's their "fight song" as what we would call it in America.  ANYWAYS.... they keep discussing it and playing the fight song.... the old one and the new proposed one.  Something about both versions drives..me... crazy.  And hey, we all know that that is a short drive anyways.

So, now I've gone and researched.  It's a football club for the "Freo Dockers".  HERE is the link to the song.  Every time I hear it, I want to head to freo and find whoever created this song... and high five them.. in the face.. with a chair.   Am so hoping that something new comes up that is more newsworthy next week so they will STOP playing this song.

Well, guess I will get moving and drive to the airport and see if I can't find someone to bring home.  ;)  Until next time!!!

Ahhh..memories....

This song has been my fav for a while now.  Has been my ringtone for...ehhh.. MONTHS now...  And on Wednesday night, I jumped into the car and guess what song came on.. in an "anti country music" culture?? Yup.. on the ROCK channel even.  Awesome!

Anyways, Lady A has been a huge impact in my life for a few years.. since I became a fan, their songs have hit me so incredibly at the right moments......maybe someday I will blog about that??  Like the fact that right before "we" became "us" I posted some of their lyrics as a status on my Facebook...yeah, another blog for another day......   Anyways.  The first time I saw this video was when Wayne and I were in "limbo" after his May 2011 visit to DC with me.  I think he had been gone for less than 12 hours...... As soon as I saw it, I broke out in tears.  Although I KNEW they weren't in DC, the train reminded me of the metro train system in DC...the train that we took a couple times as we took a journey  into the city.  And he could possibly KILL me for this...but I will post a picture of the night it always reminds me of....

Yup, my love asleep on the metro.  I'm so happy to wake up to this sleepy head..when he is home with work, that is... and that is another post and another blog for another day.....

In 14 hours my love will be home.  I miss him so.

Amazed.

I'm amazed at how much music can affect your life, remind you of things, and make you appreciate the awesome things you have.  Music really IS power.

Yet another reason I love my iPhone...

There is now a free blogger app. Sweet. Now prepare for this to be updated more frequently. But please don't expect useful posts. Pssshhhhh. That's not what you find here. Nope. Not. At. All. However I can't edit the paragraphs. Which will drive my OCD nuts. Can't justify the paragraphs which what I normally do. Oh well. Not like this blog has major traffic. Just the important peeps. Well. Most the time...

Anyways. Tonight at 8:10 I have a very important phone call with the director of the program from my first college degree. Now when I first heard who it was I about died.... She was one of my instructors 12-13 yrs ago and well...we weren't too keen on each other. However about 7 years ago out paths crossed in a different way (can't go into that for confidentiality reasons) and I think we both got to see each other in a different setting and realised we weren't as bad as we each had thought. Plus I was no longer an 18 yr old. We all know how easy to get along with teenagers are. I'm sure I was no exception. Anyways if this goes as I hope then I will very soon have ALL the requirements the board wants and should have nursing license VERY soon. So so ready for this chapter to close!!!!!

I'm ready to start working as a nurse. Granted my current jobs keep me quite busy and gives me money, I still miss the job of being a nurse. Very rewarding. Very.

Wayne is still away with work and having a rough week with some lack of planning and organising by others. There is a chance he will be home sooner than planned. For his sake I hope he's able to complete what he needs to do. But on my selfish part I'd love if he were home soon. Could so use a big hug after the last couple of stressful days! He could be home as early as tomorrow. Or worst case scenario is Saturday. Still not that far off. I'll survive. ;)

Today is third straight day of rain. We need it because once summer hits we won't see rain hardly ever. I love that the last two nights have been down pours when I go to bed. Makes for an awesome night of sleep. HOWEVER. Rainy mornings make it very hard for me to drag my butt outta bed!

Today the queen arrives in Perth and that's all over the news here. I, however, could care less. Blah blah blah is all I hear on the media coverage. Change that to Keith urban and you will have my attention.

Hopefully next blog will be full of lotsa good news!!!!!! Until next time...

WHY!?!??!!?!?!?

Why do I let myself stress out things I CANNOT control???  This week has been yet another trying week with the nursing board.  Perhaps the most stressful thus far.  It's affecting my sleep and I seem to be always thinking about it and writing emails in my mind and thinking of more "what ifs".  Granted, the sleep is because I am 12 hrs ahead of America... so when I get an email in the "Afternoon" it's early morning here.  So if I awake at ANY point in the night, I grab my beloved IPhone and check emails... which these days there is always something waiting on me, and then I can't sleep, so I MUST respond.  In my defense, if I had waited on most of the emails in the last few days, it would have only delayed the end result.  (yes, I CAN justify my madness.... haha).

Luckily I have an amazing support system.  First off there is my love, Wayne.  He admits he has learned that on some things I will simply flip out and there is nothing that can be done to chill me out.  Sadly, I admit that he is right on this one.  It's just who I am and how I've always been.  I think I've chilled out to a point on some things.. but not on everything.  However, this usually is what motivates me.  When in college, I sometimes had 2 or 3 MONTHS to complete a project.  "yeah yeah... next week" was always my attitude.  I would attempt to write whatever assignment was assigned...but no luck.  (shiney things always distracted me..lol)  However, the night before, under extreme stress, I would rise to the occasion and rock out a A+ paper.  I AM my own worst enemy.  I really am.  So anyways, stress and deadlines seem to make me move mountains.  If I have all the time in the world.. ehh.. it can wait until tomorrow.  Again.. my...own...worst...enemy.

In addition to my love, I have the most amazing parents, friends, and future in laws that a girl could ever wish for!  Seriously.  And the support system here in Australia is amazing.  Wayne's cousin and wife have an Internet phone that calls landlines to America for like a dollar an hour.  So they have graciously opened their home and phone line ANY TIME that I need to use it.  The other family members are always up to date on what's going on... and they remember what is going on.   (and for those of you who are like me, if I have to tell you the WHOLE story every time we talk, then I'm not even going there)

My close friends are always sending me good vibes, positive words, and lots of encouragement.  It's like my closest friends can tell my moods and emotions by a simple text.  THAT is true friendship.  I can say "hey, what's up"  and get "what's wrong?" in response.  My TRUE BEST FRIENDS just know me I guess....

And my parents.. god love them.... ESP MY DAD!!!  They are in the middle of their own stuff with trying to sell their house in KY to move to their FL home....in addition to the shit they are going through with my niece........however my dad has spent hours looking through boxes of papers... has drove to my college a few times... and anytime I need anything, all I have to do is ask.  I could go on a lot about the negatives in my life and family, but hell.... the good things are soooo amazing that the negatives seem sooooo small...if not non existent!  I guess sometimes we focus on the bad so long that we over look the good?

So, I continue with emails, phone calls, facepalms, lack of sleep, and EXTREMELY high stress levels... all knowing in the end I will look back and go "yeah, it took a bit of work, but it all worked out".  And then there will be something else that will keep me stressed and blogging... work, weddings, babies, etc.  I will never run out of things to bitch complain about..   what is they say..women dont' burp or fart, so we must bitch or we will explode.

Not a word Wayne... not.  a.  word.

So tonight, it's nearly 11pm, I'm about to start dinner and put in "dumb and dumber" in an attempt to turn my mind offfffff..

"I've got worms!"  hahaha.. oh I can quote this movie line for line.   Maybe turning my head off before I go to bed will be the trick.. I'd love to sleep past 5:30am tomorrow... that would be a record this week!

Love to you all and if you have been someone in this blog that I have mentioned... thank you.  much love, always.

Until next time......

Two posts in one day.. say what?

So, I've continued with "mission chick tv day", and am happy to report it has been a SUCCESS.  Just watched the finale of The Bachelorette.  Yeah, we are just a couple months behind in that series here in Australia.  I researched that apparently Ashley and JP are living together in New York?  Sweet.  I had heard they broke up, but apparently not?  Not that it really matters or affects anyones life other than theirs?  But, hey, if I commit 2 hours of my Sunday to watch your finale, the least you can do is commit to stay together long enough that I don't feel like I've wasted my Sunday?  Is that too much to ask for, Hollywood?? IS IT??  (lol)  Jk...are am I????  ;)

Anyways, I came across some old blog entries that I wanted to copy and paste.  As I've mentioned, I have a couple of old blogs and I sometimes scan them for some of the random quotes, news articles, and things of that nature that I want to copy/paste to this blog.  However, it usually takes more time to scan through than I usually care to donate.  So, as part of chick tv day, I scanned through while watching tv...and am sharing the following 2 random blog entries.   Both of these are from my blog from the year 2006.  Funny how 5 years later, they still make me giggle.....

Title: As I mature. (author unknown)
I have learned you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I have learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just assholes.

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof to destroy it.

I've learned that you can get by on charm for about 15 minutes. After that you better have a big willy or huge boobs.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.

I've learned the people you care most about in this world are taken away far too soon.. and the less important ones seem to never go away."

Quotes about being a Women (author unknown)
"Remember in old movies when women used to swoon and "take to the bed" for days at a time? That never happens. We're stronger than that. That being said, if we ever decide to "take to the bed" for days at a time, there's not a thing you can do about it.

Sometimes we think we really understand men. Then we regain consciousness.

Superskinny women really irritate us. We hate when they say, "Sometimes I just forget to eat." Now, I've forgotten my anniversary and where I parked my car. But I've never forgotten to eat.

We do like to have sex, just not at midnight when we have to get up at the crack of dawn to feed two kids, three dogs, and a pair of fat goldfish.

Women really do want to be on time. It's just that everything starts so darned early.

We know high heels are sexy, but we'll take our comfy black Uggs any day of the week.

Women are innately self-conscious. This is not a choice; it's a genderwide condition. On a bad day, I look in the mirror and see my ten-pound-heavier alter ego. Her name is Bertha. On a really bad day, Bertha sees her two-hundred-pound-heavier alter ego.

Women like porn, too. We just hate it when you hide the porn.

Women remember everything . Don't believe me? Ask your girlfriend where you met. She won't tell you it was at a party. She'll say it was a Thursday, she had just come from dinner, where she ate a veggie burger, and she was wearing her friend Cathy's pink top, which was big on her because Cathy is a big girl. You were wearing a blue button-down, drinking a Jack and Coke with two straws, and talking to Bill, that mutual friend. She waved and you gave her the "what's up" nod. This still infuriates her. ("How could you give me the nod?")

An eyelash curler, while mean and ferocious looking, is not a weapon.

No matter how much your woman loves you, there are going to be three to seven days each month when she wants you dead. (She may even quietly fantasize about turning her eyelash curler against you.) You have two options: Tie yourself to a tree and wait out the storm, or stock up at Tiffany's, toss a blue box or two into the wind, and hope for the best. We recommend the latter. (The key chain doesn't count.)

Women hear better than men. That's before you even factor in listening skills and attention spans. Come to think of it, I should have listed this one first because I'm sure I've lost you by now.

You may be surprised to know that women were responsible for inventing all of the following: the circular saw, the signal flare, the space suit, the bulletproof vest, and the windshield wiper. You're welcome.

We need a plan. We don't feel comfortable winging it. We need the specifics of what's going on and who's going to be there. That way we know what to wear.

We like to be kissed, and the kiss doesn't always need to be a prelude to sex. We love the surprise kisses. Gift kisses. An out-of-the-blue kiss while we're watering plants or peeling potatoes.

Confucius say: He who gets teary eyed in a sad movie is sensitive, but he who audibly sobs is a weenie.

We say underwear, just as men do. Women never say panties, and neither should you, except under the rarest of circumstances, and maybe not even then. Likewise, the garment we wear on top is called a bra. When possible, please refrain from making a sound effect like boing! when we remove it.

Before you accuse a woman of being bitchy, walk a mile in her shoes. Her pointy-toed, high-heeled, impossibly uncomfortable shoes. One more thing about the shoes: Most of them hurt too much to wear for too long. So, yes, we really do need that many pairs. (And, accordingly, you need us to have them.)

Sometimes we love you way more than we love ourselves.

The smell of sweat is sexy within reason. Nuzzling your neck when you come home from the gym: sexy. Getting trapped in your armpit after you've played eighteen holes in 90 degree heat: not sexy.

Our friends are not your enemies, and our enemies better not be your friends.

I know it's 2006, and believe me when I say that a woman can more than stand on her own. Nevertheless, we still love it when, every so often, you take control. Without stepping on our toes.

We do have a sixth sense. Women, like Santa Claus, know when you've been bad or good. So you know what to do . . . for goodness' sake. "

Hope you enjoyed a little giggle today or tonight....whatever time it is you are reading this, wherever in the world you are reading it from.

The 30 day challenge....

..... is still on hold.  I'm searching for the item I want to use in my next challenge.. and while it would be easier to just change the item I want to blog about, I'm now on a "mission" to find the item.  However, I will admit that my search hasn't been extremely intense because I've been quite a busy little bee!!  I'm still working 4 part time jobs, which while it's busy, gives me much more freedom and flexibility than I actually expected!  If I want a day off, I just take it.  If one of the job calls or needs me, I can simply say "I'm already working on that day".. even if by working , I mean "going to the beach with my boyfriend" or "plan on hibernating and sleeping til noon".  However, "working" just has a more professional ring to it, don't you think?  lol.

Let's catch you up with the other things in my life....

The Australian nursing board has nearly caused me to have a breakdown nearly weekly, but this past week they set out to put me in a mental institution by throwing in some "by the ways" of things that they need.  Luckily, one of my jobs is with an agency that employs nurses, and they have offered me work as a nurse once my license has come through... therefore they were able to supply me a letter stating that I had a job as a nurse lined up and needed my license expedited...which has helped a LOT, and once I supply the most recent "by the way" documents my license will be issued.  HOWEVER, the papers they want would come from my Nursing School... who has said it's something they don't supply.  So that has lead to a lot of frustration on my end, because I almost felt stuck in the middle.... "we need this from your school"  "we don't supply that, it's impossible".... FINALLY, I think I've made progress and am awaiting some documents to see if it will satisfy their requirements.  This week coming up is a four day week here in Australia as Friday is a public holiday, so I doubt I will have any answers this week, but it's at least steps in the right direction!!

I've finally admitted that I'm technologically dependant.  I've been in Perth for 12 wonderful weeks.  And as I become more and more busy, I'm away from home during the day some days all day.  Which means, also away from email, as the phone I had been using, was a prepaid Nokia.  Did the job fine as far as phone/text goes..but no email.  As an iPhone user in America for... um... 4 or 5 years I guess, I had become so reliant on email access 24/7.  I love a lot about the phone, but the email was a huge thing for me.  The last few weeks as things became more and more busy with the nursing license, the more and more days I get home around 7 p.m. and have emails that I have received that simply have to wait until the next day, when if I had received them during the day, I could have made the appropriate phone calls, follow up emails, etc, etc.  So, after some research and talking with Wayne about it, on Thursday night, we went and made a purchase.....

The new iPhone 4S.

Now, I for one have never been one that needs the latest and greatest.  When we first discussed upgrading my phone a few weeks ago, the new IPhone had been announced.  So, my thoughts were that the standard I4 would be cheaper, on sale, etc, etc once the I4S was released.... However, after a trip to the local mobile store, we found out we were wrong.  Apparently Apple slowed down production of the I4 so that when the I4S came out, there wouldn't be a lot of "left over" supply of the I4, and they increased production of the I4S so there wouldn't be a shortage of the new phone when it was released (this is what we were told by the mobile company at least).   Because of this strategic planning on Apple's part, once the I4S was released, if any store ran out of supply, it was a temporarily out of stock (until a day or two later when more stock was received).  And because of the mass production, they were able to offer the phone at a very reasonable price.  For the 32gb phone, it was only $4/month more than the 16gb IPhone 4.  So, newer model, and twice the storage.  Seemed like a no brainer.  So, the next step was to research the different mobile companies here in Perth.  (one of the downfalls of moving to another country, you have no clue about any of the things you are use to knowing first hand... such as stores and companies!)

Anyways, I'm now back to my beloved iPhone.  I love the new one and some of the new features and am very happy to have the email access back.  And am thankful to my honey for making it happen!! :)

This morning was an early wake up as Wayne is away on the East coast of Australia for the week with work.  After being apart for such long periods of time, a week just seems like nothing.  Add to the fact that I'm working and my weeks are busy, he'll be home before I know it.  But in all seriousness, I always miss him a lot when he's away with work (travel is approx 50% of his job), but it's certainly easier than the distance and time apart that we use to have to endure!  But, I'll touch more on that on an upcoming blog entry.. yes, I am working on a non-update and non-challenge blog entry.  I know you are stoked!! lol

Today is Sunday, and after coming back from the airport and taking a nap, I'm now on the couch enjoying some chick shows and movies.  I should go to the beach, but that sounds like more effort than I am able to put forth today.  ;)  Maybe tomorrow.....

Until next time.

Stealing Statuses

I'm sure at some point we've all done it.. right?  I'm usually pretty guilty of it... I never claim credit or claim to be witty enough to come up with some of them.  Most of them come from "My Status is Baddest".  Either from that blog or on their Facebook page.  And lately I seem to get a kick out of reading some of them.

Today I read a status on facebook that made me giggle (it's a long one though... it's a status, not a journal people...) and because of it's length, I thought I would steal it and paste it here on my blog.  It was a repost, so not sure of the original source.... but I take no credit.

"A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes. (O.M.G.!!!) A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death. (Creepy. I'm still not over the pig.) The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off. (Honey, I...'m home . What the...?) The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field. (30 minutes. Lucky pig! Can you imagine?) The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds. (What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?) Some lions mate over 50 times a day. (I still can't believe that pig ...quality over quantity.) Butterflies taste with their feet. (Something I always wanted to know.) Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump. (Okay, so that would be a good thing.) A cat's urine glows under a black light. (I wonder how much the government paid to figure that out.) An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that.) Starfish have no brains. (I know some people like that, too.) Polar bears are left-handed. (Talk about a southpaw.) Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure. (What about that pig? Do the dolphins know about the pig?)"

And about the 30 day challenge.. still looking for the item I want to photograph.  I will try to resume the challenge at some stage today.

Until next time.. love, peace and hair grease! :)

A big ol happy family...

One of my favorite things here in Oz has been family.  No matter what has happened and gone down between me and Wayne, his family has always accepted me with open arms, and open minds.  Not once has anything personal been brought up...and even with all of our problems, they have NEVER not welcomed me like a part of the family.  And to be honest... I LOVE IT.  I love the feeling of a big family with no drama, and I LOVE the fact that everyone in his family not only accepts me for the stupid Yank that I am, but the fact that they simply love me regardless.  It's a hard thing to explain?

Waynes cousin's wife (mother of the twins I LOVE to spoil...) has taken over as my local BFF.  At first I thought it was just me, but if I don't message her, she will message me.. and I love it.  I love having a female to confide in face to face..... and having one that confides in me as well.  Maybe it's a gal thing...but either way I just love it.  What gal doesn't really?

Today was a big family get together.  And upon looking around, I realized WE are probably the next to have kiddo's in the family.  In a family this big, I surely never thought of it as WE were the "next" ones (unless there are some MAJOR "oops" or "surprise")  Part of me was a little intimidated by this, the other part of me (the one that wants to be a mum, and not just a mum, a mum with Wayne by my side) totally embraced this.  Now if only the nursing board will get on the ball so we can make some money, save some money and be set.  Ohh.... it's never as easy as we hoped, right??  I can see it... it's as clear as day..just gotta be patient and let the cards fall.....  Oh, please tell me you know how IMPATIENT I AM??? lol.

Well, for now I should probably hit the sack!  I am working on my next challenge, but there is a problem... I put up an item for safe keeping.. .it's so safe that even  *I* can't find it...  Sighhhh.  Will locate and blog soon..promise.   "oh dear" (as mackenzie would say!)

Until next time!

30 day challenge; day 23.

Day 23 - 15 facts about you.

1.  I have 2 college degrees..both in health care.  First was in 1999.  Second was 10 years later in 2009.  I am so proud of myself for these, esp my nursing (2009) because it has really opened the door on a lot of opportunities... especially with my journey to Australia!

2.  I graduated high school when I was 17, moved out and started college when I was 17.  Not because I was a smart kid but because my birthday fell late August, so I was always a year behind in age from my peers.  Growing up everyone always thought I seemed more mature than my age.  I always thought that was why, however, truthfully people probably just didn't spend enough time with me to know exactly how IMMATURE I really am.  Seriously.

3.  At some point in my life I have played the following instruments: drums, guitar, piano, and flute.

4.  I love taking pictures, and wish that I actually took more time out.  There are times I see something (today for example, a ton of Black Swans at the lake!) and wish I had 1.) my camera with me and 2.) time to stop and enjoy the scenery.

5.  I LOVE football.  I use to be a season UK football ticket holder, and have proudly stormed the field after a huge win.  I love NFL and this year am a Packers fan, since my beloved Randall Cobb (former UK star) was recruited.  I'm sooo happy to get to watch some live games here..even though it has meant being up at the ass crack of dawn... but always worth it.

6.  I am a HUGE lover of quotes and lyrics.  This is probably known by you if you are either a reader of my blog, a close friend, or on my facebook.

7.  At the moment I have not 1.. not 2.. not 3... but FOUR part time jobs while I await for my Australia Nursing License.  I have reached the point where I HAVE to keep a calender with me to know what day it is, and where in the world I am suppose to be when.  So far I'm really enjoying them all.  And having four jobs gives a lot of flexibility..more than you would think, actually.  And a lot of chances to meet new people and experience new things.  Oh, and that whole making money thing is a plus! lol

8.  I am 5'8''.  Growing up I either wanted to be really tall, or really short.  I'm quite happy with my height as an adult though.  Whoa, did I really just admit I was happy regarding something related to my body?? Holy crap.

9.  One of my favorite things in the entire world is a massage.  (AND next week I will be getting one that my honey got me for my birthday. CANT WAIT!!)

10.  My internal thermometer is broken.  I am either hot or cold.  It's quite annoying.  In the winter, I can put on as many layers until I'm warm.  HOWEVER.. when I'm hot..there is only so much a girl can take off..especially in public!! Well, at least LEGALLY. lol.

11.  My favorite tv shows are Friends and Sex in the City (they both tie for first).  Someday I'd like to get the entire series of both of these on DVD.  Of course, this will probably be when I can either A.) Find them on a killer deal, or B.) When we hit the lottery.  However, I'm lucky they have remained popular because they can be found on tv everyday basically.  And I can usually pick the episode (esp Friends) quite quickly.  My guilty pleasures!

12.  If I like a movie, I will watch it over and over and over and over... ANDDDD over.  Seriously, it's pathetic.  I can basically quote my favorite movies line for line.  I've always done this and it drove my parents CRAZY.

13.  I love my friends like family, and would do anything for them..including help them hide the bodies.  No I'm just kidding... but seriously I would (hahaha).  However, in the past 8 months or so I've learned to acknowledge the difference between a "friend" and a TRUE friend.  As I saw posted on FB the other day (here I go with a quote!!)  "Lots of your friends want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down."  And during the times of my break downs this year, my TRUE friends have had my back and rode the (short) bus with me!  Puts a lot of things in perspective.

14.  I handle most things with humor and sarcasm.  Always have.  Sometimes people don't get my sense of humor.  Luckily for me, those important people in my life not only get it, but share the twistedness as well.  Sometimes makes it hard to be serious, but luckily I also know how to flip the serious/sarcastic/funny switch when I need to.  Well, MOST of the time.  However, the other night I made Wayne laugh while drinking water, and he nearly chocked to death.... for some reason, the funny switch didn't get flipped to off.  I guess as a nurse I could see he wasn't actually chocking or turning blue, so I knew he was a champ and would pull through.... yeah.. we'll go with that???  :)  (love you babe! lol)

15.  I can have a short fuse.  And not necessarily an angry fuse.  I can stress out really quickly.. like at the drop of a hat.  I am quick to over analyze and assume the worst.  If I'm tired/wore out, I can go from happy to a tad crabby quite quickly.  Ok..sometimes it's more than a "tad" crabby, but we'll go with "tad" for now.  At the same time, the short "fuse" goes the other way as well... I can get really excited really quickly.  If something has a "chance" of working out and is something that either I want or that would be a good thing (a job, for example) I am overly excited.  This can sometimes lead to unnecessary let down though.  Sometimes if I hadn't gotten sooo excited, when it failed or backfired, I wouldn't be as upset if I hadn't gotten my hopes so high.  So, the "fuse" is a catch 22... but, it is who I am.  Can try to chill out on somethings, but at the end of the day, some things are hard to change.

There ya go.  I originally thought "oh, 15 things..that's easy".. and perhaps if I wasn't tired it would have been..but it's kinda hard to think of 15 things at once?  I challenge you to do this post..even if you aren't doing the 30 day challenge... and let me know if you do it!!

30 day challenge; day 22

Day 22 - A letter to someone who has hurt you recently

Sigh.. another one of "these" blog challenge entries?  In one of my older 30 day challenges, I had to do a similar letter to an ex... HERE is that entry.  However, this challenge is asking for someone who has hurt me "recently".  My mind instantly goes to my niece on this one... however, for the past 20 minutes I have written and erased, and REwritten...and erased... and so on and so forth.   Next comes to mind a friend that "dumped" me and another friend, but I also don't feel like going there.... not here, not the place.  I guess all in all, although it's my blog, there are still some very private things that I don't feel a blog is an appropriate place to vent about it.  That's what my boyfriend, family, and friends are for.  And I have the greatest of those!!!!

Therefore, I will rebel against the challenge, and admit defeat on this entry, because I don't feel like this is the place to air some of those things, especially when some blasts from the past are STILL on my blog.  Every.  Freakin'.  Day.  Seriously?  Do you NOT have a life?  This is not directed towards actual readers or friends... just someone from the past who apparently doesn't have enough things to keep her busy, therefore stalking my blog seems to be on her to do list every single day.....

Ok, off my soap box!!  :)

Off I go... got to do some shopping today!

30 day blog challenge; day 21

Wow, I'm not doing too bad on this challenge.  Only 9 more days to go after this post! However, life is starting to get busier with each passing week, so I figure that I will have less and less time for blogging anyways.  I have started baby sitting part time, and today landed a job assisting a man in his home with advanced Parkinson's.  I also looks like I will be babysitting every other Saturday in a couple of weeks, and on Wednesday I interview for a dog walking service.  Sounds busy, right??  I just gotta start making sure I write down all my appointments in my calender so I'll remember when I'm suppose to be where!! lol.

Ok, onto the challenge!

Day 21 - A photo of something that makes you happy

Two of my favorite things are dogs and babies/kids.  No matter how crappy of a day your are having and no matter what is going on, dogs and kids can put a smile on your face.  You'll never have a more faithful friend than when you have a dog.  And the innocence of a child is priceless.  If I'm ever having a bad day, I can see a dog, or spend time with one of the kiddo's of the family, and it seems like my entire mood changes for the better.
