Perhaps it could be my attention span, or the fact that over the past few years as life got busier, I don't read many books. I always start with great intent, and am usually successful over the course of a vacation....but other than that, not much luck. Could also be that while in nursing school, we had so much reading to do, that it may have killed my desire to do much reading for pleasure.
However, the one thing that I've always enjoyed reading is quotes. It seems no matter what mood you are in or what you are going through, there are quotes that are inspirational, relieving, funny, etc. I have quite a few sites that I look through on a regular basis.
After talking to the Aussie for a few hours this morning, I wandered on over to do some reading. I thought I would share some of them here. (note, I take no credit for these quotes, copied from thinkexist.com)
- "What is love? Love is when one person knows all of your secrets... your deepest, darkest, most dreadful secrets of which no one else in the world knows... and yet in the end, that one person does not think any less of you; even if the rest of the world does.”
- "Love is missing someone whenever you're apart, but somehow feeling warm inside because you're close in heart.”
- “Maybe mistakes are what make our fate... without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away”
I've never had a long distance relationship. I can easily say it's one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life thusfar. Aching to be near someone, even if for just a few minutes, is really tough. We will survive this though..... once we get through this waiting period, and we get to be together for a few weeks, it's just a little over a month until we are together for the holidays and new years. From there, it should be all smooth sailing.
Tonight I have a wedding party to go to. I'm really excited about it. I have enjoyed this weekend of being able to see a lot of my friends. I work as a nurse on nightshift, which makes it hard to feel like you have a ''normal" life, when everyone sleeps while you are awake, and visa versa.
Well, off to finish some things and go enjoy some celebration of love later!! :)
Until next time.....
