2013????

When did this happen?  Aren't we suppose to party next year like it's 1999?  Seriously!

Another year has come to an end, and a new year is already full swing!  I am happy to see 2012 leave.  While there were a lot of great things (such as the engagement!! Which I will go into today!) there were a lot of blah things.  Nothing massive..just, yeah.  Blah.

So, as I have done over the past 8 or 9 years of blogging total, I will sum up 2012!
  • On December 28, Wayne hit one knee and asked me to marry him.  It was actually at the exact same spot on my first trip here in October 2010 that we watched our first sunset together down south.  I had no clue it was coming when it did.  I suspected it would be New Years.  So there I was, taking pictures of the ocean... he popped onto one knee (being "graceful", I thought he fell, so I quickly turned to see what was wrong" and there he was, on one knee, holding a gorgeous ring and asked me to marry him.  I was so taken off guard (and excited) that a few minutes later, I wasn't sure if I had even given him an answer!! Of course I had, and the answer was yes, so it's looking like 2013 has a wedding in store!!  More details to come on that once we figure out when and where (well, we have to figure out WHERE to have it to see what's available to know WHEN it will be).  Wayne did really good on the ring... 1 carat round platinum.  In the past he had asked me what shape diamond I would want... it's reallllllly cheesy.. but I wanted round to symbolise that we were  "around" the world from each other (I may have blogged that before).  The ring is just gorgeous.  He did really well!!!!
  • On January 16 (nearly one year ago!) I started my current job.... which was a part time 2 day a week job.  I was certain that if I was given the chance, I would impress them and be able to move into a full time position.  I am now the manager of the Practice and running the show.  It's awesome.  I have had a massive learning curve and have had to quickly realise I am NOT superwoman, I can't do it all and IF I can, it may not all happen in one day.  I am learning the need to leave work at work and not stress.  I am getting better week by week and I feel so much better when I learn to not stress the small things... or the big things.
  • My parents came for two weeks for their first visit to my new home.  It was really nice to have them here.  I would love love love if one day they decide to retire to the land down under!  Especially once little ones are in the picture.  I'd love grandma and grandpa to be a car ride, and not a plane ride, away.
  • We took our first trip together to America.  In the past, all of our "big" trips were to each other.. never WITH each other.  It was a really awesome summer (or winter if you are in the southern hemisphere) and we made so many memories.  We were able to attend two friends weddings and catch up with a lot of special and important people.  However, I didn't get to spend as much time with some friends as I wanted.  But, that's life really.  Gotta make the most of the time you get, regardless of how much time it is.  Even if you live in the same town really.
  • I have become closer with some friends, and more distant with others.  Some of them I suspected would happen.  Some however, have surprised me.  Some of the breakdown of friendships has really been hard on me.  I have finally come to the conclusion that I am not gonna force someone to let me be a part of their life.  It takes two to make a relationship work... and no matter how hard it is to accept that you aren't as important to someone as you once were or as they are to you, if they aren't willing to give back, then it's not a healthy relationship.
  • I have been lucky enough to make some awesome friends here.  One of which I have totally clicked with since before we met face to face... while she was still in Florida (right before she moved to Perth).  I know that it's not often in life we meet those people that we just click and bond with.  But Sasha has easily become my closest and best friend here in Perth and I am so very thankful for her friendship.  Both her and her husband have become very special to us and I am really thankful god brought them to Perth and to our life!
  • I have stopped drinking!  Yup.  I'm booze free.  And no, I'm NOT pregnant!  lol
  • Bought my first car with the steering wheel on the wrong side!! haha.  Toyota Camry.  I.  Love.  It.
I know there are more, but since it's well after midnight, my mind is blank! lol.  Life is overall awesome, and there are so many things to look forward to in 2013!!

Until next time!
