My last blog was around Easter. WHAT???? So much has been going on, and we've been busy as heck, and yet I don't seem to be blogging much at all! Which is a shame, because even though there haven't been any big events, there have been some good and fun memories that I haven't blogged on. I should really get my ass back into this blogging thing. Quick run down.. Koby (nephew) just turned FIVE. Holy. Crap. Where has the time gone? I still remember my Aussie friend emailing me (and blogging on Myspace) (side note...what's myspace?) that his precious nephew had entered the world. That little man is now our nephew (hey, he calls me Auntie April, that's good enough for me!) and is FIVE. Wow. And soon, Zane will be THREEE????? Wow.
Koby's bday falls on ANZAC day (google it, I'm too tired to link ya ;) ) so that required us getting up at 4 am for a GORGEOUS dawn service at the War Memorial in the city at Kings Park. After that was breakfast with the immediate family, home to clean up, over to the brother's house for the family get together for Koby's birthday... then home. I was EXHAUSTED and in bed at like 9 p.m. And not only in bed, but in a COMA. Wayne was packing his suitcase (I'll get to that next) and I'm pretty sure the suitcase at one stage was on my feet and legs and I didn't care enough to move. lol. I was just exhausted. The next day, we were off to the East coast.....
A couple weeks ago, Wayne found out he was going to Brisbane (on the East coast) for about 10 days for work, and since it included a weekend and I was able to get some time off work, he invited me along.... and off we went for a nice weekend get away (thurs-sun). So, our fun (but rainy) trip to Brisbane was good. Was nice to see another part of this gorgeous country!! There was shopping, sight seeing, LOTS of coffee breaks (umm...helllooooo Starbucks, how I have missed you!), a massive ferris wheel ride, "Annie" the musical (fifth row, baby!), Pancakes with REAL syrup.... and most importantly, just time away and alone. Not that it was needed, but come on, when will you ever refuse time away and alone with someone you love?
Work has been super busy this week. It's good because the day simply FLIES by. The only bad is some days I feel like I'm missing/forgetting stuff. But work is all really good. The nights this week have been packed full. Either dinner with a friend (three out of five nights were this) and the other two were catching up with Season 2 of Teen Mom 2. Now, let me explain this. In Australia, most sites that I can watch TV shows online, tell me "This material is blocked in your region". Total. Freakin. Cock block. HOWEVER, I've stumbled across a few websites that allow it. So I've been having some major marathon's. And the fact that our Internet seems to be working well lately (knock on wood!) has really been helpful.
New bedtime routine... Chamomile Tea. Yeah, I was leary, however it was in the hotel while in Brisbane so I tried it. Perhaps it's all in my head and doesn't help me sleep, but it's a nice little routine to have a warm drink at bedtime, for sure. I like it with a touch of Equal.
Tonight I had dinner with a friend/family member (step cousin) of Wayne's. Really nice good time. Before dinner we saw the movie "The five year engagement". Funny movie..really enjoyed it... perhaps not the best timing as I have some stuff on my mind lately (which I don't feel like going into here), however really enjoyable chick flick. The guys seemed to enjoy it too, so it's not TOO much of a chick flick. Still the predictable "and they all lived happily ever after" ending, but enjoyable.
Ok, off to bed I go.
Love, peace, and hair grease!
